Photo Copyright Policies
For certain situations, photos can be used without citing the sources. These pictures should come from sources such as Stock Exchange Photos, which are copyright free. All other photos technically have copyright laws protecting them, these photos which do not have a particular explicit copyright policy, they should still be cited but do not require permission to use. Other photos which have explicit copyright policies or which display that permission must be given for use should be cited and given permission to be used.

Also, Creative Commons provides an alternative to traditional copyrights, with the “some rights reserved” copyright.
